ATLANTA, GA – June 9, 2010 – Visix, Inc. has unveiled its new digital signage software product – Announce – at InfoComm 2010 Booth C4745, June 9-11 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Announce is the first of Visix’s next generation communication products, based on an entirely new application architecture that offers robust management of media assets, animated templates and themes. Announce’s primary user interface is web browser based and uses inductive navigation to make tasks obvious to even the most casual user. The power of a traditional desktop designer user interface is now available from within a web browser, powered by Microsoft® Silverlight®.
“This is a brand new direction for Visix software development. Announce is built from the ground up with a full spectrum of users in mind - we’ve catered to everyone from the receptionist to the graphic designer with this robust, user-friendly application,” says Susan Kurkjian, Visix Vice President of Product Development. “Regardless of design experience or technical ability, Announce users will be able to produce beautiful, dynamic visual messages and layouts.”
Announce enables users to search media based on media type, keywords, color category and media name. Users can employ snapshots of Flash and video content to create thumbnails to aid visual searches, all while previewing playback.
FILL-IN-THE-BLANK AND GENERATED TEMPLATES
Announce empowers non-artists so they can create effective and attractive multimedia messages with robust template support. Template creators design animated Fill-In-The-Blank Templates comprised of text, graphics and animated content while setting transitions, timing and Z-order using the effects timeline—all within the web browser interface. Advanced text formatting and full RGBA spectrum control is available. Once templates are in place, users can preview animated messages while providing text and any other required elements.
Generated Templates retrieve and display dynamic information from databases, the internet and file system sources. A powerful script engine pulls data at defined intervals, and 4GL coding directs data presentation for a variable number of message slides. Generated Templates are used to automatically create animated messages with RSS, news, weather, event schedule or other dynamic content.
INTEGRATED THEME SUPPORT
Administrators can select themes that designate a visually-cohesive design of all content elements, providing all users with matching templates, backgrounds, animated artifacts and media player layouts for their creative ventures.
The Announce Media Player provides dynamic playback with animated wallpapers, animated messages, non-rectangular zones and support for QuickTime® and H.264 streaming. Interactive content is supported through hot-spot application launching or through direct web page and Flash playback.
Other major features of Announce are:
• CAP (Common Alerting Protocol) compliant module for alert notification
• 3-Dimentional and animated text crawls
• Full RGBA spectrum control (alpha channel)
• Wide and independent control of precedence, including Z-order, sound and schedules
